How to assemble a karakat with your own hands drawings. Drawings of homemade all-terrain vehicles-karakat

So I decided to build a three-wheeled karakat, below in the photo is the result of the work done. Now the karakat even has a booth as protection from the rain. Below are some steps in the construction of this apparatus.

All the searches for the necessary knots for the karakat began, as the main thing I already figured out what and how to do. I laid out the main components, this is the Ural engine, the VAZ box and the bridge from the Volga.

This is how I make wheels

Ripping off rubber OI-25

Frame

Connecting boxes

I did the engine cooling, fixed the fan by making the drive from the crankshaft.

I installed a car generator, and removed my native Ural one altogether, since it is weak and, in addition, six-volt, and with this it is possible to make powerful light and power with a margin.

I connected the bridge to the box with the help of Zaporozhye drives, one was screwed to the box flange, for which it was necessary to re-drill two holes in the flange on the second, one fork was replaced with an UAZ one (by the way, on the lock of the UAZ crosspiece) the slots were cut in half and a slotted sleeve cut out of Cossack hubs.

Trial drive, though so far without a muffler and a gas tank, a bottle instead, but I liked it

Next is a photo of a run-in karakat, so to speak

As it turned out, the generator drive from the fan turned out to be weak, so the generator moved to a new location. The belt is now on the flywheel kalen-shaft.

This is what the caravan looks like now.

This is how the device turned out. If the first gears are in both boxes, then it pulls very decently, the maximum speed is somewhere around 5 km / s. If the first in the VAZ box, and the fourth in the Ural box, then the maximum speed is about 40 km / h, and if the second in the VAZ box, then you can accelerate to as much as you can. There are no brakes at all yet, but they are planned, as well as braking due to the engine and legs. Karakat floats and seems to be quite stable, but the front is heavy, the front wheel sinks a little more than half, more precisely 10cm above the axle.

The idea of building a karakat did not come to me immediately and not all. The first time I thought about it was when I saw the all-terrain vehicle "trekol" and thought why it does not fall through where ordinary cars land on bridges. That's how I learned about the magic low-pressure tires. He began to collect information using a very slow mobile Internet from a well-known operator, although the fact that he was, like communication in principle in our area, can already be considered a success. And so, after reading the forums of karakatovods, I decided to redo the "Ant" scooter that I had at that time.

Work began to boil, I welded discs from the armature and put cameras from ZIL 131 on them. I got the result.

But in the process, I quickly became disillusioned, the whole design, especially the reverse gear and drives on funny rubber donuts, did not inspire any confidence. It was decided to build an all-terrain vehicle from scratch. The scooter was returned to its original state and even slightly modified (replacing the iron box with a wooden body).

so began the collection of materials for the construction of a new monster. I will say right away that I didn’t have any specific ideas, and I didn’t have the experience of building something like that either. Everything was taken from pictures on the Internet, and low resolution.
During the search, a frame from a Ural motorcycle was found. They also gave me a bag of spare parts from which the engine from the Ant scooter was successfully assembled.

The construction process has begun, the rear transmission consists of UAZ axle shafts and a differential, on which a large star is screwed. Next comes the chain to the engine. Wheels set made earlier for the "ant".

Next, I started to break in the car. Ride, shoveling snow from behind the scruff of the neck, I noticed that we need wings on the wheels. They were made from aluminium. I also installed an iron box at the back, which remained after the modernization of the Ant. I also swapped the motors with my "ant" and a start from the button appeared on the karakat.

The car looked gloomy and I wanted to paint a little, collecting different colors, I started to paint.

Having traveled like this for several months, I noticed with bewilderment that the karakat "goats", especially with a passenger. It is worth giving a little gas in first gear, as the front end immediately lifts up and there is a risk of completely overturning. The reason was that the rear axle ran between driver and passenger, plus the box was a counterweight. It was decided to lengthen the frame. And additionally, I redid the wheel hubs, as they began to break.

After lengthening the frame, the karakat ceased to "goat" and began to be controlled normally. Then the tests went on severe off-road and it turned out that the gear ratio is clearly not enough. Added an intermediate shaft and the problem was solved.

During the test, I went into a ravine, and descending with increasing speed, I thought it would be nice to have brakes ... Yes, the descent ended with my somersault and a broken front fork.

The brakes were installed in the coming days.

It took about a year for all the improvements. The car turned out to be very interesting, during all the trips, I returned on the rope only once (when I broke the fork). Karakat passed all the tests, tundra, swamp, sand, snow, melted snow and even swam. It has now been sold and is still running well.

The topic of homemade vehicles is especially popular today. Many "craftsmen" are trying to make a karakat from standard vehicles, special equipment. How can you make a budget karakat using a walk-behind tractor (even the simplest Neva will do). At first glance, there are doubts about the qualities of technology, because visually it is a bulky and at the same time uncomfortable machine. In fact, a do-it-yourself karakat from a walk-behind tractor shows simply excellent performance and can easily move in difficult climates and difficult terrain. And if we talk about moving through swamps, various estuaries, in the mud, then such an all-terrain vehicle will become simply an indispensable solution for every person.

Do-it-yourself homemade caracat from a walk-behind tractor

The classic homemade version, when a karakat is made from a walk-behind tractor, can move without problems at speeds below 70 kilometers per hour, which is an excellent indicator for a number of roads with poor coverage. And if they are absent, such a vehicle will be simply necessary.

Scheme of a tricycle fracture

The unit is able to withstand significant loads, which is facilitated by a fairly strong and reliable suspension, welded from prepared steel pipes. The design is connected by hinges, which guarantees ease of movement and performance of even the most unusual maneuvers. True, the control of this unit requires a certain skill, because the execution does not provide for the presence of a worm gear. Below is a typical drawing of a homemade karakat.

Stages of developing a karakat

Conditionally, the following stages can be distinguished, how to assemble a floating karakat:

  1. Frame creation
  2. Making a pendant
  3. Creation and installation of wheels
  4. Engine and systems installation

Frame for karakat

First of all, you need to choose a suitable frame for installing all the necessary equipment and assemblies on it. It is desirable if it is a walk-behind tractor belonging to the middle or even heavy class of equipment.

In fact, even the most “advanced” karakat is nothing more than a self-made all-terrain vehicle, which is usually installed on a frame with four (4x4) or even three wheels (three-wheeled). The choice of the number of wheels depends solely on the design features of the proposed vehicle, a pre-designed scheme.

The wheels must be “shod” in high-quality low-pressure tires, the design is driven by an installed powerful internal combustion engine.

Suspension

The suspension of a motoblock karakat will require special attention and precision on the part of the developer. At this stage, in addition to the suspension itself, the master will also need to make the rear axle, which is worked out exclusively with his own hands.

Rear axle drawing example

The suspension is a special design made of two separate parts connected together by means of hinges. The spars in this case must be mated with each other, for which a steering sleeve is used. Ultimately, it is possible to form independent front and rear suspensions.

The main condition is to achieve exceptionally high independence of the suspension, because. it is this indicator that allows the all-terrain vehicle to be operated in the most unpredictable places, guaranteeing the safety of the structure.

Maneuverability and cross-country ability should be the primary factors that you should pay attention to when making a home-made karakat design from a walk-behind tractor.

Karakat wheels, in fact, are the most expensive product, which will take a lot of time. You can either buy ready-made discs or try to make them yourself. It is worth noting that almost all vehicles (karakats), made as homemade products, are equipped not directly with wheels, but with tires and low pressure chambers. Especially for these purposes, it is best to choose products installed on trucks such as the Urals, KamAZ and others.

Alternatively, you can use the wheels from the trailers of these machines - if possible, you can purchase tires and a camera from the K-700 model. The most important thing to pay attention to is that the wheels should be large enough, which will make it easy to move off-road in the future, easily covering considerable distances without the risk of rolling over.

Engine and systems

Installation of the engine and other systems is carried out at the last stages of work. These operations are carried out when a suspension with prepared wheels is installed on the vehicle frame.

In addition to the engine, clutch systems, brake elements, as well as systems responsible for removing burnt fuel products from mechanisms are mounted.

When the engine is installed, it is mandatory to conduct a full test of the karakat, then it can be operated.

It is worth noting that, depending on the walk-behind tractor used as the initial unit, the power of the vehicle can also be calculated.

For assembly, you will need to use a standard set of tools and process equipment and improvised materials. It is important to ensure the maximum possible safety of the driver of the vehicle and to exclude the possibility of accidents. A do-it-yourself karakat from a walk-behind tractor will allow you to move without problems in harsh weather conditions and will last a long period of time without the need for regular repairs and expensive maintenance.

Many people ask how to make a karakat from a walk-behind tractor on their own. Now the craftsmen are trying to upgrade any equipment that comes to hand and make something unusual. Every year there are more and more such people. Especially often, craftsmen try to build all-terrain vehicles, one of the types is a karakat, which is built from an ordinary walk-behind tractor.

How to make a caracat from a walk-behind tractor with your own hands

Even the simplest version of a karakat is capable of speeds up to 70 km / h and can easily go through any off-road and withstand all the loads placed on it. He will be able to perform all these functions due to a strong suspension, which can be easily made from steel pipes connected by hinges and welding.

No expensive materials are needed to make such a unit. It remains only to slightly adjust to the manner of driving this vehicle.

Consider how to make a caracat from a walk-behind tractor with your own hands. In the process of creating a karakat, the following stages can be distinguished:

  1. Frame manufacturing - it is advisable to use a walk-behind tractor of medium or high severity (using the Neva walk-behind tractor is the best option for the manufacture of such equipment), using this you get a good quality all-terrain vehicle with three or four wheels. Some designers use spare parts from a Ural or IZH motorcycle as a frame.
  2. Creating a suspension and rear axle - the suspension design consists of two parts connected by hinges. At the request of the developer, it is possible to design the front and rear suspension, ensuring their high independence.
  3. The production and installation of wheels is the most expensive and long-term part of the karakat.
  4. Most craftsmen do not buy ready-made discs, but use homemade products, which are tires and low pressure chambers (it is preferable to use these products from trucks: Ural, KamAZ or from their trailers).
  5. Installation of the engine and systems (brake, clutch, output of burnt fuel products).

Before its full use on the road, you should test the manufactured device.

Homemade ATV from a walk-behind tractor

In addition to a karakat from a walk-behind tractor, you can also build a home-made ATV from a walk-behind tractor, which is a four-wheeled safe and maneuverable motorcycle.

The main thing is that it must be equipped with a high-quality motor.

But it is worth remembering that a home-made ATV will be quite maneuverable and durable, like its original, but in terms of speed it will be much inferior to it.

The process of transforming a walk-behind tractor into an ATV is carried out in 3 successive stages:

  1. An increase in the wheelbase, the need for which arises due to the location of the wheels on the walk-behind tractor under the engine. This process can be carried out by turning inserts on the machine or by buying ready-made options in the store.
  2. Creating a frame that can be based on a bicycle or motorcycle. In their absence, ordinary steel pipes can be used, which must be welded together. The frame is fastened to the walk-behind tractor by means of a swivel joint with 2 pins.
  3. Selection and installation of wheels - you should use low-profile rubber. You can't do without discs. You can use cameras from trucks, which will avoid the installation of additional shock absorbers. In order for the rubber to last longer on the ATV, you need to take a regular tarpaulin watering hose and wrap the wheels of the made unit in several layers. To prevent it from unwinding, its ends are fixed with glue.

Tricycle from motoblock

Consider how to make a tricycle from a walk-behind tractor. The creation of such a transport will differ quite a bit from the construction of an ATV. The only thing is that you can use a scooter or a motorcycle as a frame, and the walk-behind tractor itself will be located under the driver's seat or immediately behind it. The construction of a trike is similar.

A tricycle is any three-wheeled vehicle from a bicycle to a car, and a trike is a three-wheeled motorcycle. At the same time, some experts argue that "trike" is translated from American English as "tricycle".

There is also a buggy with a motoblock engine. Do-it-yourself buggies are not created as often as the units discussed above.

The use of standard vehicles in off-road conditions, typical for rural areas and remote areas of the country, seems impossible due to their insufficient cross-country ability. Having figured out how to make a karakat with their own hands, the user will be able to overcome long distances without any problems, being far from the roads.

Before you figure out how to make a karakat swamp yourself from improvised mechanisms, you need to take a closer look at the existing varieties of this kind of product. The swamp all-terrain vehicle karakat is nothing more than a non-standard vehicle moving with the help of wheels on which low-pressure tires are installed.

Among its main advantages:

  • excellent cross;
  • low cost;
  • maintainability;
  • high power (depending on the spare parts used).

Homemade swamp

Such mechanisms are most often designed independently on the basis of any equipment, for example, a tractor or a walk-behind tractor. Existing models differ from each other not only in characteristics, but also in design. The most widespread are all-wheel drive and three-wheeled devices.

All-wheel drive

All-wheel drive models seem to be the most popular transport option among consumers. They are equipped with 4 wheels, thanks to which the design is stable and high traffic. Such a karakat overcomes even impressive obstacles without any problems, however, to assemble it, you will need two wheels of the same diameter.

To make such a swamp rover, do-it-yourself breaking must be done correctly, otherwise there is a high probability of assembling an inoperable structure.

tricycle

Models of swamp vehicles with three wheels can be considered no less popular modification. Such vehicles are light in weight, and in terms of cross-country ability they are not inferior to all-wheel drive counterparts. Such an option will be optimal if you need to quickly make a high-quality karakat. Do-it-yourself fracture can be done with the necessary equipment.

All-terrain vehicle from a walk-behind tractor

Affordable and efficient products are obtained from walk-behind tractors, but for this purpose it is important to use only those models that are equipped with forced cooling systems. Since swamps are often operated in winter, it is strongly recommended to use 4-stroke type engines in manufacturing, since their performance in low temperatures is much better.

Stages of creating a homemade karakat

If you want to design a karakat Vologda swamp or its other models at home, you should first of all purchase the necessary tools in advance, as well as acquire suitable components.

The complete list of necessary components and tools may vary and directly depends on the selected vehicle model that is planned to be manufactured. When analyzing the assembly process of such a product, it is necessary to single out several important stages at once:

  1. Selection of the frame of homemade tractors or motor vehicles, which will become the basis of the future device.
  2. Planning and assembly of the rear axle and vehicle suspension.
  3. Selection and installation of suitable wheels.
  4. Installation of the power unit.

Since such elements seem to be key in the design of the swamp, it is advisable to consider the features of their selection and installation in more detail.

Frame

The main structural element is the frame, on which other components and assemblies will be installed in the future. Her choice directly affects the appearance of the future karakat, as well as its performance. Experienced craftsmen recommend using the frames of old domestic-made motorcycles, for example, IZH or Ural, since it is much easier to make a caracat from a motorcycle than from a car.

Spare parts from them are distinguished by low cost, high strength and optimal characteristics for use as a basis for a swamp. After all, such three-wheeled models can boast of high maneuverability and cross-country ability, which makes them universal. During the manufacturing process, it is advisable to use the frame drawing due to the complexity of the assembly.

Swamp frame

Suspension

In the process of designing the undercarriage, it is strongly recommended to give preference to an independent type of suspension. This is due not only to the simplicity of its manufacture, but also to its excellent characteristics.

If the user does not have the opportunity to implement an independent suspension, standard pneumatic wheels can be used.

wheels

The choice of wheels for the future swamp should be given special attention, since its cross-country ability, as well as ease of operation, depend on it. For such use, large wheels from high-capacity trucks are perfect.

Low-pressure chambers are used throughout, which allows the all-terrain vehicle to overcome even large obstacles. If desired, you can make disks on a karakat, which will significantly improve the appearance of the structure. It should be remembered that for pneumatic travel it is required to use only the tubes of truck tires, and not the wheels themselves.

Engine

After the installation of the wheels has been completely completed, you should proceed with the installation of the engine, as well as related mechanisms necessary for the correct movement of the vehicle. As mentioned earlier, it makes sense to give preference to powerful units equipped with liquid and air cooling. A good option could be a product with a Lifan engine.

In addition, a home-made design can use not only gasoline engines, but also diesel counterparts, which will significantly increase cross-country ability, as well as make the vehicle more economical. However, this version of the motor has a number of disadvantages that should be remembered.

First of all, it is unstable operation and launching at low temperatures, which is especially important for karakats, since they are often used in winter. The speed indicators of diesel units are significantly inferior to gasoline counterparts.

brakes

Since, subject to the correct selection of components and their installation, the karakat can develop impressive speed on a more or less flat road, it is necessary to equip the structure with brakes that can quickly stop the vehicle.

Engine on a karakat

This is extremely important, because in off-road conditions it is often necessary to overcome large obstacles, the descent from which can significantly increase the speed of movement. For use in the design, in most cases it is recommended to choose drum-type brakes, due to their high efficiency.

Alteration of the walk-behind tractor

Motoblocks are rightfully considered one of the most versatile types of agricultural machinery, which is why they are often used as the basis for various home-made units. Among them, home-made 4x4 minitractors with a breaking frame, as well as a karakat from a walk-behind tractor, which are in no way inferior to other types in terms of technical indicators, are very popular.

For the successful manufacture of such a device from a walk-behind tractor, you will need to follow the following instructions:

  1. Weld the frame using a metal profile / pipe.
  2. Mount rear, front drives. To simplify the process, it is recommended to take the front axle, steering system, as well as other elements from the chassis of the car.
  3. Install the motor, as well as the gearbox included in the design of the walk-behind tractor.
  4. Design and fix the slopes, after which, run in the resulting structure.

It is important to consider that for this type of swamp it is recommended to use a wheelbase with an increased belt-type clutch. Motoblock structures, as a rule, have impressive dimensions and can reach speeds of up to 70 km / h, which makes them versatile and reliable off-road solutions.

In order for the karakat to have the necessary characteristics, it is necessary to use high-power walk-behind tractors, since the vehicle must not only move successfully, but also carry the driver, as well as various cargoes.

Conclusion

As practice shows, homemade swamps seem to be an ideal vehicle for moving in rural areas. For their manufacture, significant financial investments will not be required, since their design as a basis involves the use of improvised materials.
