Do-it-yourself children's rocking chair "Elephant" from plywood (photo, drawings). Children's rocking chair "Elephant" with their own hands (photos, drawings) Hello everyone and good mood

As they say: all the best for children. What parent doesn't want their children to have quality, environmentally friendly toys. The better and safer the quality, the higher the price. And not everyone can afford such toys.

I propose to make a rocking chair in the shape of an elephant for my children. Indeed, why not, the toy will turn out to be original, of high quality and, most importantly, made with love. After all, children are our continuation, our future.

To make a do-it-yourself baby rocking chair in the shape of an elephant, we need:
- plywood with a diameter of 18 millimeters);
- strong rope;
- electric drill;
- paint and varnish;
- glue for wood;
- electric or conventional jigsaw;
- a simple pencil;
- scale grid;
- saw;
- grinder or sandpaper.

So, let's start making a rocking chair

First of all, we take a scale grid and transfer enlarged detail templates to it (pictured below). If you have the opportunity to cut out the elements using a laser machine, then the drawings of the parts will need to be transferred to the media. But, alas, I don’t have such an opportunity, so I transfer all large-scale details to a sheet of plywood, so that later I can cut them out with a jigsaw. At the end of the work, we carefully grind the edges with sandpaper or a grinding machine.

In the second step, we need to carefully work out all the elements of the blanks, focusing our attention on curly cutouts. If you have little experience in working with wood, then I advise you to use hand tools. For example, the eyes of an elephant can be drilled out with a drill and a drill. We need to make a hole in the back to attach the tail to the elephant.

After all the details are ready, they need to be assembled into a single whole.

Homemade elephant rocking chair assembled, you need to check it for strength, and so that it swings well (otherwise, tweak the elements a little)

Third step. If you will paint the rocking chair and varnish it, then first we expand the openings for the fasteners by a few millimeters.

Fourth step:
Rounded all corners with sandpaper or a grinder.

The fifth step is to cover the rocking chair with paint. We use high-quality and hypoallergenic paint especially for children's products. Leave the painted elements for a while until completely dry (two days). After complete drying, apply varnish on top of the paint and again leave it for a while to dry.

Sixth step.
We collect a rocking chair. We apply glue at the joints of the parts for greater strength.

seventh step
According to the scheme, we weave the elephant's tail, fasten it and fluff the lower part (as in the photo).

One of the most favorite toys of many young children, by right, can be considered a rocking chair! In the modern world, you can buy a baby rocking chair in almost any children's store, which will always offer you a huge range of these baby rocking chairs. But at the same time, a good and high-quality children's rocking chair will cost quite a lot! An alternative solution in this situation could be to create a children's rocking chair with your own hands. At the same time, a do-it-yourself rocking chair will not be inferior to any factory product! This article will describe in detail and show how to make a good and high-quality baby rocking chair in the shape of an elephant with your own hands.

Necessary tools and materials to create a baby rocking chair in the shape of an elephant:

- plywood (width 18 millimeters);
- rope;
- drill;
- paint and varnish for wood;
- joiner's glue;
- jigsaw;
- pencil;
- paper;
- saw;
- grinder or sandpaper.

First stage.

Before you begin, you will need to scale the elephant rocking chair details template below. After scaling is done, if in the future you plan to cut out all the details of the structure manually, then you will need to print all the details of the rocking chair. If the details of the rocking chair are cut out using a laser machine, then in this case all images of the scaled parts will need to be transferred to the media.

Second phase.

After all the templates are fully printed, they will need to be attached to the sheets of prepared plywood, after which they will need to be cut using the tools at your disposal. The edges of the cuts, subject to manual cutting, will need to be processed with sandpaper.

Third stage.

At the next stage of work, it will be necessary to carefully work out all parts of the blanks. In this case, special attention should be paid to all curly cutouts! In the event that there is not enough experience in handling wood, then you can take a hand tool. Elephant eyes can be created, for example, using a drill and a drill of a suitable diameter. In addition, in the back of the product you will need to make a hole for the elephant's tail. After completing the process of preparing all the details, you will need to assemble the base of the rocking chair, and also check its stability! You should also check that the base of the rocking chair swings easily. If necessary, you will need to correct the details.

Also, if you want to paint the workpieces with paint, and then also varnish them, then you will need to expand the holes for the fasteners by a few millimeters! In the same case, if you are not going to process the products with anything, then everything will need to be left in its original form.

Fourth stage.

At the next stage of work, it will be necessary to round off all the corners of the parts with a grinder or sandpaper.

Fifth stage.

Then you will need to paint the blanks with paint. Use only the paint that is intended for children's products! Painted parts will need to be left to dry completely. In order for the parts to dry well, it will take about two days! After the parts are completely dry, they will need to be varnished and again wait for the coating to dry completely.

Sixth stage.

At the next stage of work, it will be necessary to carry out the process of assembling the rocking chair. For greater reliability, at the places where the parts are attached to each other, you will need to walk with carpentry glue.

Seventh stage.

At the next stage of work, you will need to create an elephant's tail from a small rope. The tail will need to be fixed in the finished product. The end of the tail will need to be fluffed and secured as shown in the photo below.

Everything, the baby rocking chair in the shape of an elephant is completely ready!

Hello everyone and good mood!

We bought this rocking elephant (or mammoth) for a baby when he was one and a half years old. He is very fond of us "kach-kach", that is, in translation into an adult, to swing or swing.

And it doesn’t matter if it’s a swing, or mom’s leg, or a rocking chair. The main thing is to swing! And scream louder with delight! So we decided to buy him a rocking chair in the form of an animal. The assortment included camels, giant bees, horses and one beautiful blue elephant.

It was to him that the kid rushed across the entire trading floor.

When he ran, he grabbed the elephant and tried to pile his ass on the back of the elephant, and then we realized - we take it!

All the way the baby was crying, because the elephant was not riding with him in the car, but in the trunk! But on the other hand, when they arrived home, the baby did not leave him for a day - and babbled, telling the elephant his difficult fate (and what a difficult job it is to be a baby!), And swayed, and drove him by the tail.

The elephant is certainly good, but there are also disadvantages. This is, first of all, long hair, which the baby can eat quite easily, and in general, they remain in his hands, although he does not tear them.

Conclusion - the elephant is pretty lynch!!!

And also the handrails, for which the baby must hold while swinging, are located inconveniently, and the baby has to hold on to the elephant's ears ...

But, in general, such a wheelchair is very popular with kids! The price of an elephant (or mammoth) was 1200 at the time of purchase, but now it is probably more expensive. I recommend to everyone!
